Obituaries
Clayton Rivers Lovelace, age 61, of Plymouth, Massachusetts, formerly of Dallas, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, October 4, 2022. Devoted husband of Joyce (Villegas) Lovelace, father of Dylan Joseph Rivers Lovelace and Claire Elizabeth Lovelace and brother of Suzanne Caroline Lovelace. Clay had a special bond with his niece Sally Caroline Bloom and nephew Jackson Rivers Bloom. He is also survived by his cousin, Sally Johannessen.
Clay was born in Dallas, Texas on April 30, 1961, the son of the late Thomas Rivers Lovelace Jr. and Mary Ann (Gay) Lovelace. He was a graduate of Richardson High School in Dallas, Texas and Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas. Clay went on to make his career in the trade show and exhibit industry for 40 years. He was the Vice President of Creative and Design for GES, Global Experience Specialist.
Clay was a welcoming and charismatic individual. His lively, genuine personality and wittiness brought everyone together. He was the life of the party, attending family reunions with zest and laughter.
Clay’s home, which he cherished, reflects his creative and unique personality. He decorated it with the arts and antiques that he and Joyce collected over the years. He loved listening to a variety of music, ranging from old school jazz to classic rock. Music constantly played throughout his home to create a warm and welcoming environment. Clay loved to travel to all the corners of the world and enjoyed exploring and cooking recipes from all different cultures. In his home, Clay had a studio where he loved to sketch and paint. His creations that he left behind will be cherished for years to come. Besides his incredible talent for art, he also loved to fish and watch movies.
