Obituaries
Clare A. Morin age 93 years, of Manomet, MA passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2022, at the South Shore Hospital in Weymouth. Clare was the wife of the late Robert W. Morin. Clare married Bob, the love of her life on April 8, 1951. They were married for 72 wonderful years. She was born in Boston on May 11, 1929 and was the daughter of the late William and Claudia (Sullivan) Whalen. Clare’s passion for learning started at a young age when she was awarded a full scholarship to Mount St. Joseph, an elite private school in Brighton. Clare worked mother’s hours as a legal secretary while her children were growing up. She then worked full-time before retiring as Office Manager of a law firm. During World War II, Clare was proud to be a plane spotter. She was devoted to her family and especially loved her role as Nana. She was also blessed with two great grandchildren. Clare enjoyed traveling with her sister Barbie and brother-in-law Eddie Murphy to Bermuda and Florida. She was a talented painter of mediums such as oils and watercolors. She was also very talented at needlepoint and knitting. Clare generously donated her hand-knit hats to the Boston School’s winter program.
She will be missed by her children William Morin and his wife Margaret of Hanover, Robert Morin and his wife Martha Tomich of Washington D.C., Gary Morin and his wife Robin Mailloux-Morin of Hanson and David Morin and his wife Mary of Norwell; her grandchildren Derek, Michael, Racquel Mailloux-Morin, Kristopher, Willem, and Carli Rose, and her two great grandchildren, Sean and Jaxon. She was the sister of the late Barbara Murphy and Katherine Harris.
Visitation for Clare will be held in the CARTMELL-DAVIS FUNERAL HOME, 373 Court Street, Plymouth) on Thursday, October 27, 2022 from 5:00PM – 7:00PM. Interment in the National Cemetery of Massachusetts, Connery Avenue in Bourne on Friday October 28, 2022 at 1:45PM
