Charles P. "Chub" Markol
June 26, 1928 - October 1, 2014
Charles P. "Chub" Markol, of the Plymouth and Duxbury area, died Wednesday October 1, 2014 , the birthday of his first born son the late Charles P. "Chuckie" Markol. He is survived by his daughter Georgina Marie Mansfield of Naples FL, son Donald Cash Markol of W. Roxbury, and Charlotte Ruth Landrum of Naples FL. He has 5 grandchildren. Chub is also survived by his loving longtime companion and friend Cynthia Clancy and her two children Kathleen and Fred. Before making his career Chub served in the merchant marines during WWII. Following WWII Chub and his late father, Charles Markol, built, owned, and operated their very successful car hauling Co., C&M Trucking Inc., based out of Castle Island, So. Boston. Chub was a very brilliant, colorful, and eccentric man that lived life on his own terms. He lived in several towns and loved them all for their own distinct qualities. He raised his family in Brookline and Green Harbor in Marshfield, MA. Chub made a retreat home on Gurnet Rd. in Duxbury MA, where he and his pet dog Coco traveled their world on foot. Finally he settled in a four family home in Plymouth MA where he lived out the rest of his life with Cynthia and friends. Chub enjoyed his favorite hobby of cooking, was an avid reader, loved political debates, and most of all directing his life from his favorite space, the papasan chair. Chub will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of meeting him. A visitation will be held at the Cartmell Funeral Home, 150 Court St. Plymouth on Wednesday October 8th from 8:45 till 9:45 am, followed by a Mass in St. Peters Church Plymouth at 10:00 am.
