Manomet, MA – Carl Wayne Tolman passed away on February 11, 2023 in the care of his children, at his home, in the early morning hours. Wayne battled Chronic Heart Failure for years, doing so with tenacity.
He was born in Boston, on July 16th, 1947 to Thurl and Barbara Tolman. He attended Whitman Hanson High School and Northeastern University, earning a degree in Mechanical Engineering through the ROTC program. He was the first to graduate college in his family. Later, he served in the military, prior to raising his family in Pembroke, MA
.
“CW” is survived by his four children, Michelle and her husband Daniel Stevens, Daniel and his wife Stephanie, Michael and his wife Sarah Jane, and Matthew and his wife Jennifer, and his sister Karen Tolman. He raised his children with a fierce independence, for which he was known, a characteristic which is evident in his grandchildren, Christopher, Jason, Brian, Tyler, Katelyn, Benjamin, Nathaniel, Lumi and another due in April.
He will be remembered, in all honesty, for his stubbornness, his belief in honor and integrity, his love of a strong debate (as long as your side was grounded in logic and reason), a cold Budweiser on a warm day,his love of the Red Sox (even though Chaim trading Mookie nearly took him early), and his unfettering belief in his children.
There will be no formal ceremony, instead a spreading of ashes by his family, in his favorite places and beside his wife Helena, will be held. If you wish to share condolences, please send them to 14 Sullivan Ave. Manomet, Massachusetts, 02345
