Obituaries
Barbara A. Delancey, age 81 years, of Manomet, died Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Wingate at Silver Lake in Kingston. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Evelyn (Everson) Sampson. Born in Plymouth on March 26, 1939, she was a graduate of Plymouth High School. Barbara worked as a housekeeper in the Plymouth area. She was proud of her home and yard and taking care of her lawn was her hobby. She was a devoted friend to her neighbors and had an open door to anyone who needed a place to stay. She was fondly known as “Mimi” to all.
Barbara was the mother of George Delancey and his wife Donna of New Hampshire, Katherine Manfredi of Plymouth, Cheryl Wheaton and her husband Glenn of Bourne, Brian Delancey and his wife Darlene of Plymouth and the late Robert Delancey and his wife Wendy. She was the sister of Elizabeth Chase and her husband David of Plymouth and the late Richard Sampson, and sister-in-law of Louisa. She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren, David, Danny, Melissa, Nichole, Bianca, Scott, Michael, Michael, Megan, Shannon, Marc, Robby, Talia, fifteen great grandchildren and her many nieces and nephews.
Visitation with Barbara’s family will be held on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 in the DAVIS FUNERAL HOME, 619 State Road (Manomet) from 10:00AM – 12:00PM. Immediately following the service, there will be a CELEBRATION OF LIFE AT THE JOHN ALDEN SPORTSMAN CLUB (Manomet) from 1:00pm – 5:00PM. Interment will be in Manomet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 309 Waverly Oaks Road, Waltham, MA 02452.
