Obituaries
Arthur William Budge, Sr. 84, of Plymouth died peacefully, at his home, with his family by his side on January 9, 2021. He was the loving and devoted husband for 64 years of the late Diana May (Silva) Budge. He was the last remaining child of the late Jasper Budge and Marguerite (Schlehuber) Budge. He was predeceased by his siblings, Jasper Percy (Buddy) Budge Jr, Charles Budge, Nancy Manseau, Ella Smith, Blanche Rose and Rosetta Welch. After the death of his beloved wife Diana, only one year ago, he was able to spend his final year at home, with the assistance and devotion of his family.
Arthur served in the United States Army, 82nd Airborne, as a para-trooper during the Korean War, subsequently he became a Plymouth Police Officer, attaining the rank of Sergeant and finishing out his career at the Plymouth Police Department as the Police Court Prosecutor, at the Plymouth District Court. He was an active member of Plymouth Kiwanis Club for many years. Arthur was also the proprietor of two businesses Pilgrim Chimney Sweep and Plymouth Trophy & Awards. He was a devoted family man and very active in the Boy Scouts of America, an activity which all of his sons were a part of.
Arthur was the loving father of Arthur W. Budge, Jr. and his wife Lynne, of Sagamore Beach, David A. Budge and his wife Siobhan of Plymouth and Allan C. Budge and his wife Christine of Jasper, Arkansas. He was predeceased by his daughter Liisa Budge-Johnson.
He was the cherished grandfather of six and great-grandfather of eight, and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Davis Life Celebration Funeral Home, 373 Court St., Plymouth. Due to Covid restrictions a PRIVATE SERVICE will follow visiting hours. Burial will also be PRIVATE. Donations in Arthur’s memory may be made to Kiwanis Pediatric Trauma Institute or Cranberry Hospice.
