Anna Bertha “Kahuna” (Burgholzer) Bumpus, age 79 passed away on July 19, 2021 at the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital- Plymouth. She was the devoted wife of the late Roland Bumpus. Anna was born in Plymouth on December 10, 1941, daughter of the late Peter and Anna Rose (Mistler) Burgholzer. She was educated in Kingston and was a graduate of Silverlake High School, Class of 1959. Anna was the owner of the Bay View Motel in Kingston, which her parents had originally opened. She had also worked for many years as a cook for the Willis House in Kingston and as a school bus driver for the town of Plymouth.
Anna had many hobbies; she enjoyed watching game shows, knitting, baking, traveling and visiting Casino’s. At Anna’s request she would like to have folks dressed in colorful clothing while attending her wake and funeral. Anna was one of the kindest people in the world, always willing to lend a helping hand and be supportive to those in need. She will be truly missed by the countless hearts she touched.
Anna was the loving mother of Nadine Marie Kane of Kingston and the cherished grandmother of Heidi Kane, P.J. Kane, and Kayla Kane, and great-grandmother of Jazmin, Jason, Conner and Autumn.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, July 28th, 2021 at the Davis Life Celebration Funeral Home, 373 Court St., Plymouth from 4:00-7:00 p.m. The funeral will take place on Thursday morning at 9:30 from the Davis Funeral Home followed by a Celebration of Life Mass at the St. Mary’s Church, 313 Court St., Plymouth at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Plymouth. Donations in her memory may be made to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children at www.donate.lovetotherescue.org
